Our Teachers

All of our teachers are passionate about music and the development of children.

They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.

photo Jane Roets

Director Jane Roets completed her Music Together® training in May 2001 and Certification level I for teaching mastery in Feb. 2005. With an M.A. in human relations from UCONN (1993) and a lifelong passion for music, dance and theatre, Jane found that Music Together puts together all of the things she loves most - nurturing healthy families, singing, and dancing. Jane continues to study voice and to perform when she can with the Music Makin' Mamas. She is also an Adjunct Faculty member at Capital Community College in Hartford and loves teaching future "teachers" about her passion!

Mom of three, she knows first hand the value of music and movement in the lives of children and families. She brings her musical skills and enthusiasm to her classes along with her genuine delight in watching little ones grow and develop their musical muscles. Ask Jane about a musical birthday party!

photo Rebecca Chaimovitch

Rebecca Chaimovitch holds a M.M. in vocal performance from UConn and has achieved Certification I for teaching mastery of Music Together. She has been teaching pre-school music for the past 9 years and also is a private music instructor in voice and piano. Rebecca is the mother of 2 boys and has seen the benefits of early musical exposure first hand in her sons. She brings a great deal of silliness and warmth to her classes and thoroughly enjoys bringing the fun and joy of music to young children. She continues her own musical journey through performing locally.

photo Laurel LaPorte-Grimes

Laurel LaPorte-Grimes is a registered Music Together teacher. With a Ph.D. in Linguistics from UCONN, Laurel brings a wealth of knowledge to her classes regarding the language of music. Mother of two, Laurel decided that just taking a class wasn't enough for her - she had to become a teacher! In addition to her extensive training in both voice and piano, Laurel brings a great sense of silliness to her classes.
